Compared to Jackdaws Fire Crests are great news as they are a rare spices of bird. If they are seen in your area you should feel very lucky and proud as this normally means your local area is not polluted and is well maintained. The second smallest bird in Britain is becoming a popular sighting in and around cities were they have never been before!! This means we are becoming better at keeping pollution levels down!
Jackdaws are becoming increasingly common in our cities which to some people it is a good thing, but the city is not the place for jackdaws as they are sometimes know as country side crows (even though crows live in the country side as well). The reason why they are turning up in our cities is not known yet, but it is probably due to loss of habitat or over farming!!!!

A School in Hendon has had their bird feeders have been taken down after this lame excuse " a bird might fly over the school and drop a nut in the play ground!!!!" year 8 pupils are outraged at this and are fighting for the return. we will ceep you updated with this when we get the news!!! We now know the head teacher will be making the decision wether to put them back up on tuesday 7th may, after she returns from a school trip, but she dosen't know everything about the story. we now also know that the head teacher originaly gave the go ahead for the feeders as they are nowhere near the playground and children aren't allowed to go there and birds can't take peanuts out anyway!!!
